Workforce Development and Leadership Development
There are many reasons we identified why developing people effectively can be a challenge. Not to mention that learning is done best when it is not a one-time event, or a stand-alone program with no ties or accountability to organizational strategy and performance.
Whether you are starting from the ground up and need to develop an overall employee development strategy or knowledge transfer strategy
Or you need to improve the skills of employees in a certain role or division in the organization
Or you want to ensure as part of your succession management that knowledge is being transferred or collected into role-based training guides before that knowledge walks out the door
Or you need to develop your first-line, mid-level, and senior leaders, all with varying requirements in method of development and skills / competencies…
We are your partner in the Development of people
We work with you on
- Learning strategy development and planning (e.g. Developing the Organization’s Employee Development Strategy and Implementation Plan)
- Leadership development – for all levels of leaders (assessment, competencies, experiences, engagement of the organization and/or community, development)
- Development of competency models, performance measures, and more
- Development of processes, programs, curriculum, and materials
- Coaching and training your people who coach, mentor and train (like Everyone?)
- Facilitation of programs (Training in variety of topics – Ask us – we teach a variety of topics and build others)
- The Future – succession management, hi-potentials, new-hires, and onboarding
- Writing procedures, manuals and guides to support development and training
We do not provide ready-made or off-the-shelf training programs. When you are considering ready-made or off-the-shelf training versus customized, off-the-shelf training courses can be useful to fulfill primary or general training requirements, and can be a part of the overall learning options. However, regarding the alignment of development processes with business strategies, and the development of complex skills or competencies, leadership behaviors, or topics involving engagement or specific situations, customized training would better provide desired results.
When we build customized learning and development, we start with your organization’s strategies, needs and objectives, and then build the development process or program around that. We do have components, curriculum, and activities that we can pull from, combine, and build on to ensure each aspect of a process or program is connected to your organization’s strategy, goals, and needs. And we also research, design, and develop relevant and fresh content and processes as needed for clients.

Coaching
Senior global leaders, as an example, may be more interested in coaching for development rather than development via a dedicated training time or cohort. They are looking for experiences that have direct impact, are relevant, and personalized. Coaching that involves an experienced, skilled coach, can provide the impact needed. Coaching can be provided in other development situations as well.
Individual Development Coaching
The coach helps the individual to set and attain goals by providing a structure and then dialogues with the individual to move along the path to success, while also providing support and encouragement.
Career Coaching
The coach works with the individual to define career goals, make a career transition from one field to another, identify careers and job opportunities, develop methods of researching and networking for new careers/jobs, and/or develop effective presentation for prospective employers. This may also be provided to employers who are offboarding employees.
Executive Coaching
The coach works with high-level managers of organizations and dialogues with the executive in attaining goals such as culture change, growth strategies, goal attainment, role clarity, and personal development. The coach provides sounding board and feedback, varying perspectives and thinking.
Immersive Learning, including Adventure / Outdoors
- Indoor immersive learning activities and projects
- Leaders Training
- “Adventure Day” – challenging, relevant, connected to organizational needs
- Outdoor immersive learning – Adventure team trips/programs
- Leisure or Team or Appreciation focus for corporate or business groups, community groups, scouts, or customers
We believe that some of the best learning or development situations are those that provide opportunity for “immersive learning.” Immersive learning can be described as “learning by doing or experiencing.” Other times our clients ask us to create a fun and memorable experience for customer or team appreciation. We can also incorporate digital memories of the experience.
Some examples we develop and facilitate for clients:
- immersive in-house development program that allows employees to cross-train in different job positions and tasks
- as part of a leadership program, leaders develop and work on across six months, a real-world project that benefits the organization and provides broader development for the leaders
- executives on a kayak trip for the day who debrief around challenges of implementing strategy
- product development team on an overnight hiking trip (indoor accommodations) who discuss, brainstorm, problem solve customer needs against current product offerings and development potential of others
- service-learning program for college students
Facilitation and Transfer of Skills – We believe that immersive learning is effective only if participants can make the connection between the immersive activity and the learning or applicability back on the job or in life. For that reason, we use skilled facilitators who are experienced at taking immersive experiences and enjoyable learning opportunities and transforming them into opportunities to impact the organization and person. When applicable, we also use facilitators who have had experience in and are comfortable leading groups in the outdoors.
